• California Courts Self-Help Guide to County Law Libraries Access legal research guides compiled by California County Law Libraries. Includes links to several academic law library research guides.
• San Diego Law Library - Library Guides Research guides covering a wide range of legal topics, and procedures.
• Sacramento County Public Law Library Access numerous how-to videos about various areas of the law. Some are in Spanish.

The following websites provide free access to legal information, including federal and state statutes, court opinions, regulations, and legal encyclopedias. These are valuable tools for anyone researching the law on their own.

• Cornell Legal Information Institute (LII) A comprehensive, free legal resource from Cornell Law School offering access to the U.S. Code, the Code of Federal Regulations, Supreme Court opinions, and plain-language explanations of legal topics.
• Justia A free legal information portal providing access to federal and state case law, statutes, regulations, and legal guides. Justia also offers an annotated U.S. Constitution, court dockets and filings, and plain-language legal guides on a wide range of topics.

Isla Vista is an unincorporated community located approximately 9 miles west of Santa Barbara.
